Hi! By now you should know that I am the new Children’s Minister at Hill-n-Dale Christian Church, but did you know that:
+ I grew up in Colorado
+ I graduated from Milligan College and Emmanuel School of Religion
+ I have 2 boys
+ My husband is a PhD student at Asbury Theological Seminary
+ My Interests include: teaching kids, the global church, the created world, bird watching, making bread
+ I served as a Missionary to the Turkana of northern Kenya with Christian Missionary Fellowship, 1999-2008.
+ I served as Associate Minister of Youth (birth-college) at Hopwood Memorial Christian Church, Milligan College, TN, 1995-1999.
OTHER NEAT STUFF …..
+ I have visited or lived in 10 countries, 4 continents, and swam in 5 oceans/seas
+ I speak fluent Turkana (“Ejoka?”), a Nilotic African Language
+ I currently have identified 274 birds in Kenya
+ In February 2008, I participated in the Pastoral Pilgrimage to Israel (sponsored by the CF Foundation and Emmanuel School of Religion):
· favorite place- a boat on the Sea of Galilee
· favorite food- falafel in pita with hummus (yum!)
· favorite books on the trip: Mark’s gospel & NT Wright’s The Way of the Lord
· favorite moment- getting lost in the Old City of Jerusalem on the way back from the Wailing Wall
